While this tent is spacious, it’s too heavy for backpacking at 7.2 pounds – almost double what I’d want for a lightweight setup.

This tent has a unique pole system that allows it to have a little roomier footprint than may backpacking tentst hat also pack down into the small form factor for backpacking and traveling light. It also has a cool two door design, that allows you to access the tent from eithe rside or just enjoy open airy feeling while using the tent. I have owned many backpackign tents and have used them in all sorts of scenarios, beaches, mountains, hiking and backpacking to car camping and even camping off of motorcycles. This one will do the job perfectly fine if you have reasonable expectations. It’s not a 4 season tent, so don’t expect that. But for casual use and for a cool design in a light package, it works great. No complaints here!

This is really great – I’m kind of amazed that something this big can fit in a bag small enough to carry it out into the woods. Previously, I had been just a car camping kind of person, using MUCH larger, unwieldy tents.
This packs up really small, and can easily be attached to a frame pack to take it somewhere that you need to hike out to.
I’ve only used it in the one season so far, but I can definitely understand how this is a four season tent – seems very rugged and sturdy.
