Was ever easy to set up and light for backpacking. Recommend for beginners or hikers on a budget.

Purchased for Motorcycle camping. Getting through the first setup has a “learning curve”, but after that it’s been a great piece of kit.

After recent backpacking trip, I needed to lighten my load. Got this on a discounted price. Excellent price. Tent is packed down super small & light. Setting up is well coordinated with color coordinated poles & tent grommets. Pole design is a little tricky to get assembled & up by yourself, but with a little practice I’m sure it’ll be fine.
Very roomy for a one person tent, certainly not a mesh coffin like many are. I fit in there well being over six feet tall. Room for a bit of gear. Vestibule is big enough to fit my pack & boots.
Definitely hunt down the Footprint for this tent. Being an ultralight tent, the material is quite thin & I could see where it wouldn’t take many twigs or pebbles to cause some damage.

Casa muy ligera, estaría mucho mejor si incluyera la huella ya q es muy delgado su piso. No es muy recomendable si la temperatura es de 0 grados centígrados.
Los cierres o cremalleras son muy delgados (sencillos).

This tent is just the right size for one person. It has built-in pockets in each corner, which makes storing loose items convenient and easy to access. The tent is free-standing without stakes, but of course is more stable when stakes are used. Used the tent nightly for 15 consecutive days, including rain storms, heat, and wind with no problems. The vestibule is big enough for boots and a dry bag; I wish it was bigger, but that would add additional weight and I think this vestibule size is a good compromise in terms of size and weight. The stakes are solid: you can push them halfway in by hand and then step on them to push them in the rest of the way and the stakes do not bend. Ventilation is reasonably good: the tent does accumulate a little condensation internally (as all do), but it was minimal. Very happy with the tent overall.

This is a very good tent for the price. It’s very light weight and compact which is good for backpacking or motorcycle camping. It’s a little tricky setting up but becomes easy with a little practice (following instructions).

At first I really liked this tent. But the second time I used it a zipper on the rain fly got stuck and subsequently failed.
Next trip, the other side did the same.
It’s pretty much useless now, unless I get a replacement fly sheet.

Used this in the smoky mountains. Easy to set up Super lightweight. Has good headroom felt big and I like that it has 2 doors on both sides of tent. Room to store bags and shoes stove under rainfly. Highly recommend!

I bought this tent, even though there were very few reviews for the Helix, for two reasons.
1. ALPS Mountaineering has good reviews.
2. The pack size of the Helix fits in the 18″ Panniers of my bike. This was important because I want to put gear in the bike bags and clothing in a duffle bag on the seat behind me. Other tents with 18″ or shorter pack size were more expensive with no evident improvement over the Helix.
I have camped one weekend and it didn’t rain, so I am not commenting on water resistance. Set-up is easy once you do it couple of times. The flaps on the fly were catching in the zipper, but this cured itself as the weekend progressed. Otherwise, it did what it is supposed to do and I look forward to using it on my next trip away.
I will try to remember to revisit this rating as I gain new experience with the tent. For now, I would not hesitate to recommend.
