Lightweight 3-person tent. As with most tents, you will want to also use an additional footprint tarp under the tent to protect it from water or a tear. I’ve had many tents over the years, and there are a lot of things I really like about this one. First of all, It is very lightweight – it weighs over a pound less than my two-person one. Also, the entire top of the tent is see-thru screen – GREAT for sleeping under the stars (if you are confident it will not rain, and just leave the rainfly off). That brings me to the rainfly. It is substantial – it has a full back and low sides. The front of the rainfly does not overhang very far out over the front door though. The buffer of space between the tent and the rainfly allows for ventilation. And the little ‘power port’ is a nice touch too. Recommend.

I’m 6’3″ and usually having a hard time with these smaller tents as they can be rated for 4 people capacity, but only a very small people can fit in them. In this 3 person tent I can fit comfortably with the family, it really is a 3 grownups capacity tent! Roomy and not cramped at all, great height for sitting up and moving inside, and great floor length for the mattresses and personal belongings.
This is a very light tent, great for backpacking and traveling! The assembly is very easy, if you ever built a tent before you will be able to assemble it in 10 minutes with no instructions.
The only part I’m not sure about is the material they used in this tent, it is very lightweight and thin. I’m not sure how it will hold up over time as it feels a bit delicate and it’s not exactly a good thing for a tent exposed to elements on every side. In every other way we love it, great attention to detail and great quality!

After ordering this tent, I found a three-man Mountain Summit Gear tent, in same style as this one, advertised on REI Co-Op website for almost 1/4th the price of this one. Personally, it doesn’t seem logical that manufacturing a tent size that allows for one more person of space would require an additional $100 of cost. I gave it 2 stars since the materials and construction are no better or worse than most $40-$50 tents on the market.
