This is my first tent but this was a great experience. We were able to easily fit 6 people inside comfortable for a trip to the woods. Setup and take down at first took some time but once I was accustomed to the steps, it got easier. I’d say it takes around 15 minutes to get set up. Build quality is great, durable fabric, smooth zippers. I did not face any rainfall so I didn’t get to see how it would handle that, but I did test spraying the top with a hose and it held up well to that with no wetness inside. My favorite part is the screened “porch” section that can be closed so you can transition from your dirty boots to the inside/sleeping area without tracking unnecessary dirt in. The overall experience was good and I recommend this for anyone looking for a roomy tent.

The Coleman Evanston Tent is like the Airbnb of tents—complete with a screened “porch” that feels fancy until you remember it’s just bug-proof mesh. This porch area is a game-changer, though! Big enough for a couple of camping chairs, it’s the perfect spot to sip your coffee, enjoy the view, and laugh at the mosquitoes banging against the screen like they forgot their keys.
This tent is roomy—like, “bring the whole crew and their gear” roomy. Sure, it’s a bit heavier than some ultralight options, but that’s the price you pay for sturdy poles, reliable stakes, and a rainfly that keeps everyone dry. The zippers? Smooth as butter—no annoying snagging while you’re fumbling to get inside after dark.
Set it up in about 15 minutes, and you’ve got yourself a weatherproof, family-friendly fortress. Whether it’s for camping, glamping, or hosting the sleepover of the century, this tent delivers comfort and durability in one big, happy package. Just don’t forget the snacks—tent life makes everyone hungry.

We are a three person family (myself, the wife and a 9yr old son). This tent is a perfect size for a camping trip to sleep the whole family comfortably. We can set up the air mattress along with all of our extra stuff inside the tent and still comfortably move around inside. I am 5’9″ and can stand erect without having to hunch while getting dressed inside the tent. I love the screened in “porch” area of the tent that is big enough to put a couple of camping chairs to sit and enjoy without being pestered by bugs constantly. However, where this tent really shined was when we had a sleepover of 4 other boys for my son’s party and they all stayed out in the backyard in the tent with a small TV and a Playstation. They all had plenty of room and said they slept great (once they finally went to sleep). Set up takes me about 20 to 30 min from start to finish. Putting everything away back into the bag requires making sure that you fold everything just right and helps to have a second person to hold stuff while you compress it all into the bag again. I would suggest getting some aftermarket screw in style tent stakes though just to keep this guy on the ground in the case of a windy day as it is pretty light weight and I could easily see it blowing away if it’s not secured down really well.

What caught my eye the most about this tent was the screened in porch area, I think it’s awesome and effectively adds another ‘room’ to the tent. It’s large enough for a single person to relax in and there’s plenty of ventilation there for fresh air it’s just great for lounging in. The main room is large enough for several sleeping bags and some packs; we used it with two sleeping bags and our backpacks and it didn’t feel cramped. The main room also has good ventilation and it was pleasant enough to sleep in. Setup isn’t complicated but took me about 30 minutes the first time which is pretty standard for most tents I’d say. Everything needed is included, so that was nice, and the carrying bag for the tent actually isn’t half bad. The materials feel durable, all of the zippers worked well and I’d imagine this tent will last many seasons if taken care of properly. I think it makes for a great tent, mostly because of the porch area, but it’s also quite well built and designed; it’s a solid choice for 2-4 people and something I would recommend.

Love this tent. It’s a Coleman and I have always had great luck with Coleman Tents. I had a four person that I had for over 20 years and still worked great. This is bigger and design is much better and well thought out. The thing that sold me on this one is the screened in “porch.” It is nice to sit on the porch, listen to the river, and not worry about the mosquitos. The rainfly will pull back so you can see the stare at night on the porch while protected from biting insects. I also like that I can leave my shoes on the covered part of the porch and keep dirt out of the inside of the tent. The tent can be set up by one person, of course it’s faster and easier with two people, still nice that if need be I can set it up on my own. The tent is roomy inside with some pockets for keys and such. It held up well to the rain that we had a few nights which is always the test of a tent for me. We fit a queen air mattress and a couple of camp chairs so it has room for four adults or more if you don’t mind close proximity. This tent was great for just two of us and our two dogs. I’m sure we’ll get many years of camping in this. Nice quality and good tent for a small family.

Great tent for two adults with a queen bed and a couple camp chairs. Couldn’t find an electrical inlet hole, but we used an open seam on the porch and passed an extension cord through the front door. The porch does get wet when it rains, but that water does not go into the tent and can be easily swept out. It rained steady for 24 hours during our camp, but there was no wind so we can’t review how sturdy it is during a windy storm. Two of the walls got wet inside below the rain shield. All was good as long as you did not lean up against the wet wall. None of the other walls got wet inside. Wish there were more inside storage pouches. The zippers all worked smoothly. Easy for the two of us to assemble. I even did it all by myself once, but it was a struggle.
