The first time I set up the tent, I made some newbie mistakes. If you look at the pic of inside the tent…and the video (I am an aviation guy, not a photographer) you can see one corner is up high. First time putting it up was a trick. Here are some things to help you avoid the newbie mistakes I made. First, the red poles criss-cross over one another. You need to lay the tent down on the ground as shown in the photo (I stole that off a youtube video). Then when you work the poles through the slats, you will see where the rain flap is. The pole that starts on the front left (facing the front of the tent) goes in first. Then cross over it with the second red pole. Now you should have like an X pattern. After that, the blue pole is obvious. After the three poles are set up, the tent is off the ground. Go ahead and open up the back window, unless it is a cold day….it will get warm in there if it is nice hot day. There are four bungee cords with hooks on them, on the floor of the tent. One on each corner. These need to be pulled out and put under the 4 ends of the red poles. This will flatten out the tent bed. As you can see when I first put up my tent, I didn’t do that in one corner, and that is why it is sitting up high. Also, while inside the tent, study all of the hooks and loops. I didn’t at first, I just wanted the tent up, LOL! But if you take a minute, you will see a clear pattern of what goes where. Start in the back corners, on the bottom, work your way up, then in the middle then the top, then the front. Your tent will take a beautiful form after a few minutes.
Ok, onto performance. I got my tent in mid May this year (2020), the 17th I think. The only pics I took were the first day I put it up. It is now July 25, 2020, and the tent has been up in my yard since May. I have taken it apart and put it back in its bag twice. Taking it apart by yourself is a lot easier than putting it up by yourself. The gig with taking it apart is the length of the poles and they sag into the ground as you push them out of the slats (sleeves I should say)….so it would help to have a dog or person hold the end of the pole so it doesn’t nose into the grass and get stuck while you are trying to push it out. Putting it up by yourself can be done. I did it once. The second time I had help. 30 minutes by yourself, about 15 minutes with help. Although I am sure with practice, I could cut that 30 mins down to about 20 with experience.
Rain….yes, I live in the Pacific Northwest. Like a rain forest. It rains and rains and rains. The tent has been outside for 2 months non-stop. Not a leak. No mildew, no smell, no bugs, nothing. The fine mesh of the rear window and the spacing and design…you can even leave that open in a gentle (not sideways rain) and no water got in.
Some of the things I got to go with this tent… https://www.Tent camping.com/gp/product/B07JDM8DXT/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The queen size air mattress fits beautifully. The Keruita electric pump is powered easily by the HALO BOLT 58830 charger and inflates the mattress in a less time than it takes to type this. The wool blanket I put over the mattress so my little puppy can come in and no worries about her sharp little claws piercing the mattress. The fan is very nice….I love it….it has 3 speeds, to keep air circulating and a 3-level LED light, which is USB chargeable by the HALO BOLT as well. Inside the tent at the top (apex) is a nice net to hang the fan, put the charger, cell phone, etc. Each side of the tent has good size sewn on pockets big enough to hold books, magazines, toiletry items, food, shoes. The best part and why I chose this tent is the vestibule area. I had an old door mat, I put it there so I can put my backpack, shoes and things, and when you crawl in or out, your knees don’t get wet. That area doesn’t have a flooring like the inside. You can even put a little stove there and cook out of the rain. The inside has a mosquito net door, then a solid door, and the vestibule has a door too, with windows on each side, they are just clear and do not open, but very nice addition as it adds such a nice touch to be able to look out and see what my puppy monster is up to.
Since it is still summer (haha) here, I can’t attest to the 4 season part yet. But soon, the winds and cold, then snow. I plan on finding out just how comfy it is. I spent four years in the USMC as a grunt, we never had nice stuff like this when we were in the field. I wanted the best for the bang, and looks like I got it.

This is a study festival/holiday tent for sure because its 4.5kg, and realistically it’s a 2man tent @ 4.4/4.5kg which is why I gave 4 stars not 5.
I have 2 other 2man tents that’s used for warm weather camping that give the same living space @ 1.5 x2m each at a carry weight of less than 1kg max, so in 18c weather weather they’re my go to whereas this tent felt like it really is for the colder festival months (Feb/March) the pole reinforced front is a nice practical windy weather touch 🙂
This was fiddly to put up – but I love its design as the tent stands out from so many dome tents so that nobody could possibly mistaken my tent for theirs 🙂 and for sure it’s possible for one person to erect the tent (you’ll have to semi peg it out first though) 🙂 Overall I’m happy

We bought and used this tent for a 2 week trip to Iceland this past June. It was quick to setup and tear down and it withstood a few rainy nights without leaking and held up well in some pretty windy conditions (my video of the inside view of our tent roof shows an example of the gusts of window that would come through the tent). The design of the aluminum stakes was one of the reasons for selecting this tent. They were small but strong and easy to pound into the ground (you’ll just need a small hammer). As others have indicated, this is more like a 2.5 person tent. It would be crowded for 3 people. If you pushed your sleeping pads right against the side walls, you may be able to fit 3 people, but it would be cozy and the 2 folks on the ends would have the sloping roof sides hitting their faces.
I’d buy this tent again. I think it’s also of reasonably weight and size for backpacking trips.
